Studio portrait of 3811 Private (Pte) Lionel Ackers Parsons, 1st Battalion. A motor mechanic from Epping, NSW prior to enlistment, Pte Parsons embarked with the 12th Reinforcements from Sydney on RMS Mooltan on 11 December 1915. On 22 July 1916 he was killed in action, aged 19, near Pozieres, France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial.
