Studio portrait of 3195 Private Albert Edward Lampit, 27th Battalion from Prospect, South Australia. A 23 year old labourer prior to enlisting in the AIF on 9 August 1915, he embarked for overseas with the 7th Reinforcements from Adelaide on 12 January 1916 aboard HMAT Medic. While serving on the Western Front, he was killed in action on 5 November 1916 near Dernancourt, France and his name is inscribed on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial with others who have no known grave.
