Studio portrait of 2028 Private (Pte) Peter Karin Foster, 7th Light Horse Regiment. A farmer from Tamworth, NSW prior to enlistment, Pte Foster embarked with the 14th Reinforcements from Sydney on HMAT Malakuta on 16 March 1916. After transferring to the Imperial Camel Corps, he was promoted to Sergeant and, on 9 January 1917, was killed in action at Abassia, Egypt and is buried in the Kantara War Memorial Cemetery.
