Studio portrait of 108 Sergeant (Sgt) Ronald Swan Edgar, 10th Australian Light Horse Regiment. A stockman from Mornington, Vic prior to enlistment, Sgt Edgar embarked with the rank of Private (Pte) with A Squadron from Fremantle on HMAT Mashobra on 8 February 1915. Later promoted to Sergeant, he was killed in action on 19 April 1917 and was buried in the Gaza War Cemetery. .
