Studio portrait of 7550 Gunner (Gnr) Charles Clive Bryant, 5th Field Artillery Brigade. A warehouseman from Potts Point, New South Wales, prior to enlistment on 18 August 1915 he embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Persic on 18 November 1915 for Egypt. On arrival in Egypt he was hospitalised due to illness and did not rejoin his unit until late March 1916 just as they were relocating to the Western Front, France . Gnr Bryant was wounded in action near Flers, France, on 6 November 1916 and died of these wounds in No 3 Stationary Hospital, Rouen, France on 15 November 1916. He was aged 19 years.
