Studio portrait of 1116 Corporal (Cpl) Peter Olaf Anderson, 37th Battalion from Brunswick, Victoria. A 27 year old brass finisher prior to enlisting on 29 February 1916, he embarked for overseas with D Company from Melbourne on 3 June 1916 aboard HMAT Persic. On arrival in France, he joined the battalion in the field and was killed in action near Armentieres on 8 January 1917. Cpl Anderson is buried in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, France.
