Description

Postcard portrait of Lieutenant (Lt) James Morison Rhind, 22nd Battalion. A grazier from Wallington, Vic prior to enlistment, Lt Rhind embarked with the 7th Reinforcements from Melbourne on HMAT Commonwealth on 26 November 1915. Later transferring to the 60th Battalion, he was reported as missing in action in France. A later Court of Enquiry determined that he had been killed in action on 19 July 1916. He is commemorated on the VC Corner Australian Cemetery and Memorial, Fromelles, France. See also DASEY1208.
