Description

Six days rations for one man in that load, as Private (Pte) 'Snowy' Pullen, of Wollongong, NSW (kneeling), B Company (B Coy), 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), tightens up a few straps before slinging the load onto his back and heading back into the jungle. Pte Pullen and the unidentified men in the background are members of a ration party from B Coy sent to meet the truck and pick up supplies at the fringe of jungle near the road to Sungei Siput. The main body of B Coy is still on the trail of a group of Communist terrorists in the jungle. Within minutes of meeting the truck the men of the ration detail were breaking open the large cases and transferring the small ration boxes to their packs. Within 15 minutes, they were all packed and ready to go back to the main body of the company to continue their chase. Each small ration box contains 24 hours worth of rations for one man.
