Studio portrait of 2809 Driver William Treadwell, 3rd Brigade Australian Field Artillery. The hat badge is that of the Australian Field Artillery (Militia), and the uniform is the AIF pattern developed in the period 1912-1914. Driver Treadwell was killed in action on 8 August 1918. He has no known grave and his name is commemorated on a Memorial Panel at the Villers-Bretonneux Military Cemetery, Fouilloy, France.
