Description

GIZA EGYPT 1915-1-31. OSMOND J. HOWARD LEFT, PICTURED WITH A FRIEND, WEARING THE HAT WHICH WAS LATER HOLED BY A BULLET, WOUNDING HIM IN THE HEAD ON GALLIPOLI. HE WAS SERVING WITH THE 3RD FIELD AMBULANCE. LATER HE BECAME A MECHANIC WITH NO.1 SQUADRON AUSTRALIAN FLYING CORPS EGYPT AND NO.2 SQUADRON IN FRANCE. THE HAT IS HELD IN THE MEMORIAL'S COLLECTION.
