Collapsible backpack water container : Sergeant W J Guthrie RAAF, 1 Media Support Unit, INTERFET
Camelbak brand collapsible backpack water container. A blue plastic bladder is contained inside a small green, black and grey synthetic fibre backpack with net shoulder harness. A flexible, transparent, blue plastic, drinking-tube, which originates at the bladder, comes out of a small slit in the top of the backpack and runs along the righthand shoulder strap. It is attached to the shoulder strap by a simple clip that is provided for the purpose. A white plastic canister for 35mm film, which has had a hole made in its lid, has been slipped over the end of the drinking-tube to protect the mouthpiece from contamination by flys and dust. The maker's name and model are on the cloth label at the top.
Associated with A232657 Sergeant William John Guthrie, RAAF, who served in East Timor with INTERFET's 1 Media Support Unit during 1999.
