Description

Chinese wooden sword scabbard is wood covered in black painted fishskin. It is mounted with an iron shoe chape, locket and has two iron central bands connected by a back bar that has slots near the bands for hanger straps. All metal parts have been painted black.

This scabbard is typical of the design used by the Chinese during the Boxer Rebellion of 1900.
