Description

The remaining corner of a shell smashed house, in which a concrete dugout was constructed by the Germans at Messines, prior to the battle of 7 June 1917. It was occupied by members of the 11th Battalion when this photograph was taken on 25 January 1918. Identified, left to right: 5483 Private (Pte) J. McDonald; 5097 Corporal G. H.
