Dark grey cotton trousers : National Liberation Front
Description
Dark grey cotton trousers of the National Liberation Front (Viet Cong). The trousers have slash style hip pockets and side pockets, a concealed buttoned fly and six belt loops. The bottom of each leg has been torn.
History / Summary
National Liberation Front guerilla trousers. These trousers are part of the contents of a Viet Cong pack which provided a complete uniform of the village Viet Cong. Other items included a shirt, home made ammunition pouches, rice bowl, pack, hammock roll and rubber sandals. Village Viet Cong remained close to their own hamlet, working in the fields during the day and supporting main force troops at night. These fighters were highly indoctrinated but usually poorly trained.
