Discusses: joined the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) 1915; served on training ship HMAS Tingira; posted to the torpedo boat destroyer (TBD) HMAS Warrego; Malta; sea patrols; discharged from RAN March 1919; enlist in the Australian Army Garrison Battalion June 1940; transferred to 2nd AIF April 1941 in engineering field company; served in Syria; action at Milne Bay and New Guinea; malaria and swamps; discharged from Army June 1948; post-war life; marriage and family.
