Description

Informal portrait of 417 Private (Pte) Timothy Driscoll of Botany, NSW and 377 Pte Allan Robert Barrie MM of Henty, NSW. Both men were members of the 3rd Australian Pioneer Battalion and embarked with B Company from Melbourne on HMAT Wandilla on 6 June 1916. Pte Driscoll, a wagon driver prior to enlistment, died of wounds received in action on 29 May 1918 and was buried in the Crouy British Cemetery, Crouy-Sur-Somme. Pte Barrie returned to Australia on 4 June 1919.
