Description

The graves of 340 Trooper (Tpr) Alfred Charles Rann, 5th Australian Light Horse Regiment and two unidentified British servicemen. Tpr Rann, a native of the Isle of Wight, England, was a labourer from Thallon, Qld prior to enlistment and embarked with B Squadron, 11th Light Horse Regiment from Brisbane on HMAT Borda on 2 June 1915. On arrival at Gallipoli he transferred to 5th Light Horse Regiment and was wounded in action. Subsequently transferred to Baviere Military Hospital, Malta, he succumbed to his wounds on 26 November 1915, aged 25, and was buried in the Pieta Military Cemetery, Malta.
