Group portrait of members of the University of Sydney attending No 18 School of Instruction Course, held at "The Warren". The course ran from 15 March 1915 to 15 April 1915. Some of these men had already enlisted in the AIF at the time of this photograph and they were members of a variety of different militia units. From left to right: back row: France Gombert BA (later Lieutenant, killed in action 28 August 1915); Robert John Bowden BA (later Lieutenant MSM); Lieutenant (Lt) W. M. C. MacDonald, 26th Infantry; Reginald Vincent Spier BE (later Captain); R. McNiven BA; Francis Leonard Flannery, 25th Infantry. Second row: Lt Robert Cairns Amos Anderson BSc (later MC), Sydney University Scouts; Lt Edmund Beaver (later MC), 25th Infantry; Lt A. G.
