Description

A khaki drill uniform is an unusual sight on an Australian sailor, who is part of the RAN' commitment in Vietnam. The RAN Helicopter Flight Vietnam (RANHFV) is serving in Vietnam, attached to the US Army 135th Assault Helicopter Company. Here R93607 Leading Airman Safety Equipment (LASE) Alan Morris Winchcombe, of Scarborough, WA, is making repairs to an RANHFV building, probably at Blackhorse base, near Xuan Loc, South Vietnam. The base was originally at Vung Tau, but moved in December 1967.
