The painted nose art, shark heads on this P38 Lockheed Lightning aircraft, have proved just as fearsome to the Japanese in New Guinea as sharks have to many Australian surfers. Corporal (Cpl) Leo P. Brooks of Grady, Alabama and Cpl R. T. Barber of Montana, are overhauling the twin engines.
