Description

A khaki drill uniform is an unusual sight on an Australian sailor, who is part of the RAN's commitment in Vietnam. The RAN Helicopter Flight Vietnam (RANHFV) is serving in Vietnam attached to the US Army 135th Assault Helicopter Company. Here R62195 Leading Electrical Mechanic Air Weapons (LEMAW) David John Hardy, of Nowra, NSW, and Electrical Mechanic Air Weapons (EMAW) Michael Stephen Perkins, of Tuart Hill, WA, set up telephone wires at Black Horse base, near Xuan Loc, South Vietnam. The base was originally at Vung Tau, but moved in December 1967.
