WA. Paybook photograph of WX966 Private Harry Noel Bishop, 2/11th Battalion, Australian Infantry. Private Bishop, aged 29, died on 20 July 1943, as a Prisoner of War (POW), after being captured defending the island of Crete against the German land and airborne invasion. He was the son of Ernest and Doris May Abbott, of Perth, WA. He is buried in the Cracow Rakowicki Cemetery, Poland, Section 2, Row D, Plot 2.
