Description
Alert and ready for posible enemy action, gunners of the 16th Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment traverse a 40mm Bofors gun aboard the Army Vessel Brudenell White, cruising down the Saigon River in South Vietnam. The Landing Ship Medium (LSM) spent three weeks in the war zone carrying stores and equipment for the Australian Forces. The LSM belongs to the 32 Small Ships Squadron, Royal Australian Engineers (RAE), and is based at Woolwich, Sydney. Standing and loading the Bofors is Gun Sergeant Kevin Hedges of Hill Crest, SA, while Bombardier James Barnes sights it up.
