Bac Lieu, South Vietnam. November 1971. Warrant Officer Class 2 (WO2) Bruce Elphick of Orange, NSW (centre), an instructor with the Australian night operations training team, run by the Australian Army Training Team Vietnam (AATTV), at Bac Lieu in the Mekong Delta area of South Vietnam, checks a list of points with two Vietnamese students during a debriefing session. The students, members of a thirty man class, are drawn from one of the eight southern provinces in the Delta, and spend two weeks at the Bac Lieu centre before returning to their own province.
