Canungra, Qld. 25/26 January 1966. Sergeant (Sgt) H. M. Smith of Hobart, Tas empties the water from one of his boots during a confidence course training at the Jungle Training Centre, Canungra, Qld. A member of 5th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (5RAR), Sgt Smith was undergoing a `crash' four weeks training course at Canungra prior to departure for South Vietnam and service there with the 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF). He is watched by two of his fellow trainees.
