418529 Pilot Officer (later Flying Officer [FO]) Harold John Gibbs, aircraft captain of Essendon, Vic, and 424425 FO Eric Rex Loton, navigator of Valcluse, NSW, two RAAF members of No. 99 (Liberator) Squadron RAF. These two airmen took part in a record-breaking raid on Mandalay on January 13 1945, and were later both killed in operations over India on April 23 1945 while serving with 99 Squadron.
