Associated with 98 Private Eugene Vogel Finster, 2 Field Ambulance and 13 Light Horse Regiment, AIF. He enlisted on 19 August 1914. He was involved in the German mine explosion at Bapaume late in March, 1917, which destroyed the Town Hall. Wounded, he returned to Australia on 22 July 1917 and was discharged on 30 October 1917.
