Bien Hoa Province, South Vietnam. 1968-02. Corporal George Priestly of Holsworthy, NSW, writing a letter to his wife to inform her that he had just received word that his Rest and Recuperation leave to Australia had been approved. Corporal Priestley is a member of Headquarters, 1st Australian Task Force (1ATF), on Operation Coburg. Note the sandbags he is resting on and his rifle to his right.
