Owen Mk 2/3 Sub-machine Gun
Description
Owen MK2/3 sub-machine gun. The solid trigger box frame is marked on the right side MK2/3 OWEN 9MM MK I 42 (crossed out) LYSAGHT. PK. AUSTRALIA PAT PENDING and the serial number. The top rear of the receiver is stamped FTR over MA/51. The gun has been reconditioned with a safety slide, bayonet lug on the barrel and a Mk III wooden butt with trap. The metal parts and the pistol grips are painted black. This weapon is complete with a detachable 33 round box magazine and webbing sling.

History / Summary
This gun was refurbished at the Lithgow Small Arms Factory in 1951. A new barrel with a bayonet lug, Mk III butt and a safety slide cover over the breech have been fitted.
