Agnone, Sicily, Italy. 1943. A survivor suffering burns sits in a jeep receiving attention after being rescued from a crashed aircraft near an airfield. Several of the crew of the aircraft died and others were badly injured. Note the thick smoke billowing from the aircraft in the background.
