Extensive manuscript titled `The gunners: a history of Australian Artillery'. Covers establishment of artillery with British troops for colonial defence purposes, establishment of a Volunteer Artillery Corps and then permanent artillery, experiences at Sudan and South Africa, and subsequent development of the Royal Australian Artillery throughout the 20th century. Describes artillery experiences of the 1st World War (including Gallipoli, the Somme, and Ypres), the inter-war period, the 2nd World War (including home defence, Middle East, Greece and Crete, Malaya, the South Pacific, and women in the artillery), also discusses the post-war army, subsequent conflicts in Malaya and Vietnam, and current structure.
