Description
Haramura, Honshu, Japan, 1949. With the aid of a cane he is holding and a blackboard, 2/376 Captain Leon Roderic Greville (left) delivers a lecture to a group of NCOs (right) from the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), serving with BCOF. The NCOs are undertaking a training course at Haramura, the battalion's main field training centre. In the background, a colour party from the battalion stands at ease during rehearsals for the trooping of the colours, for the purposes of which the party is using dummy flags made of hessian. The members of the colour party are (left to right): unknown; Sergeant Tom Murray (obscured); 5/7005 Lieutenant (Lt) John Murray Church; 3/35012 Lt David John Mannett; 2/1142 Warrant Officer W.A.M.
