Description
Hiro, Honshu, Japan, 1948-12-25. Seated at a long dinner table, members of the 67th Infantry Battalion, part of the Australian component of BCOF, eat and drink beer during their Christmas dinner in the soldiers' mess. Sitting on the table are numerous bottles and glasses of beer, porcelain mugs, pieces of fruit and saucers containing pieces of Christmas cake. The ceiling of the mess is festooned with streamers.
