Description
Haramura, Japan, 1950-07-14. An officer, possibly Lieutenant Robin Morison of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), fires a 20mm Polsten anti-aircraft gun during battalion training in the use of the weapon. At rear, another 3RAR soldier looks toward the target (not in view) to see the result of the shot. Following the outbreak of the Korean War, the battalion had been issued with twenty-one of the guns in case of a surprise air attack on Japan by the North Korean Air Force.
