Description
Haramura, Japan, 1950-07-14. Private Moore, a member of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), fires a 20mm Polsten anti-aircraft gun during battalion training in the use of the weapon. The soldier standing behind the gun is Private Ledgard, also a member of 3RAR. Following the outbreak of the Korean War, the battalion had been issued with twenty-one of the guns in case of a surprise air attack on Japan by the North Korean Air Force.
