Description
A damaged US Army Piper Cub aircraft with its wings removed stands tethered to the top of a flat-top railway car at Hiro siding. The aircraft is being taken away for repair after being recovered from a nearby rice paddy into which it had crash-landed. At centre, an aircraft mechanic is at work, while an armed US Army guard watches on at right. The aircraft had been piloted by US 1st Lieutenant R. Simpson, who was uninjured in the crash.
