Description
Allied prisoners of war (POWs) at the Whitsunday Carnival, one of the regular "Carnival Days" held by the prisoners of Stalag 383, playing water polo in the fire-fighting pool. This reservoir was used for swimming, but the water was not changed in three years. This German POW and internment camp was a special non-work camp for non-commissioned officers (NCOs) from October 1942.
