Wallet 1 of 1 contains six letters and one envelope from Amos to his daughter, Judith Ann Amos, written in c.1943-1945 while serving with the 7 Australian Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery in Rathmines, New South Wales and Townsville, Queensland. In his letters, Amos writes fictional stories and includes hand-drawn pictures of animals and characters. Titles of the stories include “Shirley Ann’s Garden”, “Fairy Silverbell’s Shoe”, and “Monty Magpie’s Mounties”. He also writes about local wildlife, receiving mail, and spending time in hospital.
