After receiving his award from King George VI at an investiture at Buckingham Palace, is 414015 Pilot Officer (PO, later Flying Officer [FO]) Allan Thomas Fitzpatrick DFM of 460 Squadron, RAAF of Maryborough, Qld shown with Mrs and Miss Stannard. FO Fitzpatrick was lost on operations over Britain on 27 September, 1944, while flying with 627 Squadron, RAF. He is buried in the RAF Regional Cemetery in Cambridge, England.
