Collection relating to the Second World War service of 401475 Flight Lieutenant Arthur John Moline, Air Force Headquarters, Australia, New Guinea, United States of America, Netherlands East Indies.

Wallet 1 of 1 – This wallet contains facsimiles of documents relating to Moline's service. These documents include 1 flying logbook (divided into two) spanning the period 20 August 1941 to 19 December 1944 of Moline’s service across Australia, New Guinea, the Netherlands East Indies, and the United States in PBY Catalinas and Avro Ansons; 1 brief diary discussing flying duties spanning the period 26 May to 8 August 1942; 2 written accounts of different missions undertaken by Catalinas, one is dated 13 December 1942 and discusses action over the Solomon Islands where Moline spotted and followed a fleet of Japanese ships towards Mambare Bay, the second contains various accounts of missions in the Pacific during 1942 including a mission over the Kokoda trail in December 1942; 1 annotated newspaper article dated 1 May 1980 discussing the role of Catalinas in the Battle of the Coral Sea with particular reference to A24-12 (Moline's plane); 1 letter from 14933 Flying Officer Jack Stuart Riddell to Moline dated 30 November 1984 discussing the role of Catalinas in the Pacific particularly over Rabaul; and 5 miscellaneous documents.
