Kurt von Briesen
Nazi propaganda booklet - small size approx. 5x7cm.
Number 4 in the Helden der Wehrmacht or Heroes of the Wehrmacht series of publications.
This title is one example of a number of small gifts distributed to donors contributing to the Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes (Winter Relief of the German People), or Winterhilfswerk (WHW). An annual donation drive sponsored by the National Socialist People's Welfare (Nationalsozialistische Volkswohlfahrt), it was established during the Great Depression to help finance charitable work, later becoming a major source of funding for the activities of the NSV and support to national welfare activities, freeing up resources for Germany's rearmament.
Kurt von Briesen was a general in the Wehrmacht of Nazi Germany and a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross.
