A group of United States Military police who had been trained in life saving techniques to Bronze Medallion standard to enable them to patrol Australian beaches in areas where there were United States troops. The training had been conducted by Mr A. Kennedy, the Superintendent of the Queensland State Centre of the Surf Life Saving Association of Australia.
