RAF Station, Drem, Scotland. 1942-12-22. The BBC visits the No. 453 (Spitfire) Squadron RAAF Christmas party and broadcasts the proceedings to Australia. 405111 Squadron Leader (Sqn Ldr) J. R. Ratten of Hobart, Tas, is in command of the RAAF Fighter Squadron in Britain. He is responding to the toast of the Squadron, which was proposed by the Station Commander, Sqn Ldr Gadney, on his left.
