Description

Extensive collection of papers (including letters, diaries, logbooks) describing enlistment, training in Australia and Canada, and active service in Europe. Includes `Australia Remembers' souvenir leaflet and RAAF Memorial service mentioning Flying Officer (FO) Max Bryant. FO Bryant was killed in a flying battle over Holland in 1943. (See also PR00273, PR00274, Military Heraldry). Additional material, as of 6 July 2001: three photographs of St Mary Magdalene Church, Warboys, commemorating Pathfinder Force; one photograph of the memorial plaque to 156 Squadron at Warboys RAF Station; photocopy from "The Bomber Command War Diaries" regarding raid of 11/12 June 1943 on Munster, Germany; thirteen photocopies from 156 Squadron's Operations Records Book.
