Description

Letters relating to the First World War service of Lieutenant Harold Eric Moody, 7 Battery, 3 Field Artillery Brigade. These letter were written between 4 September 1915 to 15 July 1916 mention: conditions on Gallipoli; his hope get a transfer so to be with his own State; the amount of senior officers he sees compare to back in Australia: discusses the evacuation of Anzac; the death of 2290 Private Donovan Rowe Bradley; Arthur Seaforth Blackburn; that he has been made an officer of his battery; the negative attitude of English officers towards Australian troops; the conditions on board the transport ship to France; the French civilian owners of the farm where he is billeted; sightseeing in London and the interior of the German dugout in which he is living.
