"A Boab, or bottle Tree"
Description
The Gregory Tree, or Gregory's Tree, a Boab tree on the banks of the Victoria River, 15km north-west of present-day Timber Creek. Located in Judbarra/Gregory National Park, Gregory's Tree is a sacred site to the Ngarinyman people and is named after explorer Augustus Gregory and his party, who camped near it in September 1855 and who inscribed the dates of the expedition on the tree's trunk.
