Collection relating to the First World War service of 72 Warrant Officer Class I Angus Hastings, 3 Australian Light Horse Regiment, Egypt, Gallipoli, 1915-1916.

Wallet 1 of 1 - Consists of Hastings' pocket diary, containing regular entries from 1 January to 31 December 1915. Hastings writes of his duties, patrols, training, church services and recreation in Egypt, his regiment's embarkation for Gallipoli in May, his experiences in the trenches and at Pope's Hill, of coming under artillery and rifle fire, and his evacuation from Gallipoli in December. The diary also contains a schedule for picquet duty by A Squadron, 3 Australian Light Horse Regiment, in February and March 1916.
