Covers the unit's early history, military traditions, training in Australia from 1940 to 1944, active service in New Guinea and the unit's return to Australia in 1946 and some post war activities. The history is in diary format with some humourous anecdotes written by members of the battalion. Also extracts from the "Christmas books" and Dexter's volume of the official history.
