Description

Item (1 A & B) Folder containing copies of instructions, correspondence and drills for HMAS "Hobart" and other Royal Navy and Royal Australian Navy vessels 1942 to 1945 plus HMAS "Nizam" merchant shipping plot and photograph of plans for the "Tingira" and standing orders and instructions for First Lieutenant on HMAS "Orana". Item (2) issues of the "Hobart Herald" 1945 and "Stars and Stripes Pacific" 1946. Three photograph albums containing souvenirs, photographs (most captioned and dated), press clippings, naval messages and signals, maps showing the routes taken by each ship. Item (3) concerns the relief of Malta, India and Egypt and HMAS "Napier", "Nestor" and "Nizam" 1942; item (4) HMAS "Hobart" and "Bataan" in Borneo, Philippines, Yokosuka Naval Base and Tokyo Bay 1945 and item (5) HMAS "Hobart" at Yokohama, Hiroshima, Nikko, Kure and Rabaul 1945 until paying off in 1956.
