Description

British Artillery Officer's sword and scabbard. Nickel plated steel three bar hilt and back strap with a silver wire bound fishskin grip. A brown leather sword knot is attached to the slot on the hilt near the pommel. The slightly curved blade has a single fuller to each side to within 11.5 inches of the spear point. It is etched with a foliage design on both sides with the Royal Coat of Arms, a crown over the Royal EVIIR cypher over a field gun on the centre left and winged lightening bolts over ARTILLERY on the right. The ricasso has a brass disc stamped APPROVED on the right side within the interlocking triangle symbol and the military outfitter's name C.ANDERSON SYDNEY on the left. The scabbard is brown leather covered wood with a nickel plated chape and throat. A brown leather sword knot is attached near the throat.
